El Meson de las Flores, owned by Land of the Sun Foundation, is dedicated to improving employment opportunities in Cotacachi, Ecuador. The 23 room hotel property is the site of several conferences including those hosted by Gary and Merri Scott on the topics of international investing, importing/exporting, and others. The Scott's also host week long Spanish classes. Guests stay at El Meson de las Flores during their participation in the class.
The hotel is staffed by many employees, all of whom have received training in tourism and business development as well as their specific area of interest.
Land of the Sun Foundation strives as well, to positively impact the area's economic outlook by encouraging conference participants to purchase goods from local businesses, thereby enhancing the financial picture of the indigenous of Ecuador.
The Quinoa Cafe:
The Quinoa Cafe is El Meson de las Flores' on site restaurant. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the cafe serves reasonably priced, healthy fare featuring organic produce from Cotacachi and the surrounding region.
Each day, the chef and restaurant team prepare a menu featuring a bountiful selection of the freshest fruits, vegetables, fish and other items selected from the local market. The menu reflects the hotel's quest to provide outstanding meals which reflect the rich cultural heritage of the people of the Ecuadorean Andes.
The Quinoa Cafe has seating for approximately 40 people in the beautiful courtyard in the center of El Meson de las Flores. There is also seating for an additional 40 people in a covered area adjacent to the courtyard.
