The Land of the Sun Foundation (LOTS) is a public charitable foundation originally formed by Joe Spano M.D., Joe Cox, Esquire, Gary Scott and Merri Scott, to help reduce poverty around the world.
For the past decade, Land of the Sun Foundation (LOTS) has focused its efforts on providing aid to the people and environment of Ecuador. LOTS has purchased a hotel, El Meson de Las Flores in Cotacachi, Ecuador. The hotel is not only a destination for international travelers, it is also the site of a free, large lending library to educate the young, a soup kitchen to feed the hungry, and is the home of numerous programs that focus on environmental and employment issues in Ecuador.
LOTS has also focused on working with indigenous communities in Ecuador, providing assistance where needed and wanted, while also respecting the rich cultural heritage of the Andean region. It is the goal of LOTS to provide assistance in the areas of education and employment, and is also concerned with the health and well being of the indigenous of Ecuador. LOTS also focuses on issues involving the environment, including water management concerns and reforestation.
All donations are genuinely appreciated and go directly to programs and services that help the people of Ecuador.
